What a filming location costs in Romania
There is no standard rate, and anyone who quotes you a figure without knowing what you are shooting is guessing. Here is what drives the price.
Type and size of the space
An ordinary apartment and a villa with a garden in a prime neighbourhood are not comparable. Likewise, a 600 sqm industrial hall with a 6-metre ceiling is a different category from an office.
Number of days
Shooting days, prep days and strike days are counted separately. A production staying five days pays differently from one that comes in and out in a single day.
What the shoot involves
A shoot with 8 people and a camera on sticks does not carry the same risk for the owner as one with 40 people, furniture moves, fire and water. The greater the impact, the higher the price.
How lived-in the space is
If the owner has to move out for a few days, that shows in the price. An empty, unused space is generally more accessible.
Timing and urgency
A request made two months ahead negotiates differently from one for next week. Availability has its own price.
Why we do not publish prices
Because a number on a website with no context is either too high (and you lose good projects) or too low (and it does not cover what is actually involved). We prefer to understand the project and quote accurately.
